Job: General Manager, Future of Pinckneyville Foundation

Reporting to the Chairperson of the Board of Directors, the General manager conducts the day to day activities of the Friends of Pinckneyville Foundation and represents the Foundation in Community events and with government officials. The General Manager is expected to live in the overall Pinckneyville area.

The Future of Pinckneyville Foundation is a tax-exempt, not for profit corporation whose purpose is to strengthen the community's schools, medical facilities, retail business, tourism and infrastructure so as to make Pinckneyville attract more residents and employment by raising and administering private gifts and grants. It seeks to help implement the initiatives address in the Strategic Planning effort at www.PinckneyvillePartnership.com.


Specific responsibilities include:

• Assisting the Chairperson with the Board meeting, scheduling and preparation of Board agendas, materials and minutes;

• Prepare financial reports and progress reports on potential, in process and approved projects and review same with the Board;

• Representing the Foundation community meetings, the press and with potential donors and grant recipients in a manner that conveys a professional and helpful image;

• Assisting with the development and review of business plans from potential grant recipients to ensure the request complies with all tax laws, meets the objectives of the Foundation and results in a successful project;

• Planning and executing fundraising drives and preparation of federal and state grant requests to satisfy overall Foundation financial needs;

• Coordinating the goals and activities of the Foundation with other organizations such as the Planning Committee, High School Foundation, Hall of Fame Foundation and Thresherman's Museum Foundation;

• Assisting charitable organizations with financial needs by matching them with potential funding sources, helping them organize their funding requests and directing them to potential sources of planning or legal assistance;

• Managing real estate and other assets owned by the Foundation;


• Overseeing or performing the administrative activities of the Foundation including recordkeeping and office management;

• Prepare year end reports to donors and all other required fillings.


College and related work experience is required. The position requires excellent communications and interpersonal skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work and produce high quality work. Computer literacy, word processing and database management experience is necessary.
